Oddica is back (queue dramatic music)

Sometimes I wish that HYA was a TV show so that I could accompany stories with music, because I think that backing this story would be the music that plays during the Darth Maul x Obi-Wan lightsaber duel during The Phantom Menace. Partially because I want to over-hype the return of Oddica after an unfortunate hiatus of 9 months, and partially because I think that me presenting a segment on TV with music that ridiculously dramatic would be totally badass. Sorry, I believe I have a news item to tell you. Oddica have released there first new designs since 2007, and they certainly do not disappoint. Good to have you back Oddica, we’ve missed you. Oddica

Vintage Vantage get fresh, kinda modern

Y’know, you leave a company alone for a few months and the next time you check in they’ve gone and had a facelift, its like when you see a girl you know from high school that has become almost inexplicably hot (not that Vintage Vantage was an uggo to start with). They’ve also got a load of new tees for you to enjoy (only a few of which are in the above gallery), some of which don’t seem all that vintage in their style, although perhaps ‘vintage’ style has pervaded society so completely that their designs are vintage, and I just can’t tell anymore. Wrongwrok’s Fall Collection 2008

Wrongwroks continues his/their (I’m never sure which to put) blistering release schedule by putting up their Fall line just a few weeks after returning from a triumphant show in Taipei. I really like the selection of hats that have just been released, the ‘Everyone Steals’ tee is a nice jab at his critics, and the Dorabob character has evolved once again, this time being mashed up with a Marlboro colorway. 410bc and their Fall 08 lookbook

I’ve commented in the past about how much I like the photographs that 410bc take of their tees, and their upcoming Fall collection appears to be no different if their latest lookbook is anything to go by. I actually bookmarked this quite a while ago and have only gotten around to posting it now, so this lookbook post isn’t actually a tease at all, almost everything in the lookbook is on sale in the 410bc store right now. 410bc (and see the res of the lookbook here)

Fall 2008 at PopJunkie looks mighty fine

PopJunkie are one of those brands that I totally forget about after I’ve written about them, only to be reminded of their excellence when I get their newsletter. Their Fall line is now available and its filled with great concepts that have been executed really well, if I were to describe this line in one word it would be ’solid,’ because I just can’t fault it. Akumu Ink: Still managing to be dark and cute at the same time

To me, the character design on Tokyo Massacre is pretty cute, yes, she’s holding a chainsaw, but at the same time, its a pretty cute style. Maybe I’m starting to get a bit dark if I think that anyone wielding a chainsaw can be cute, please shout at me if the blog starts getting too gothy (”dudes, this glow in the glow in the dark tee would go great with my pentagram necklace, ring, and belt buckle!”). The second design that Akumu Ink released this month looks like someone decided to put a chess board on your chest with a razor blade, and even gothy old Andy thinks that this may well be a little dark, but I do quite like it. The tee is called Shukketsu, any chance a Japanese speaker in the audience could enlighten us? Oh, and they promise they’ll have hoodies on sale next month, huzzah! Akumu Ink

Four new tees to Enclothe yourself with

Enclothe released four new designs (well, three new and one reworking of a classic) a couple of days ago, one of which, the green one, Digfoot, was created by Sven Pamlowski, known to many as a.mar.illo. All four tees are pretty cool, not following any specific kind of theme or style, which is something I like about Enclothe, they print what they like, not what they think will sell well… although chances are these will sell well anyway!
